Call for Teaching Proposals

Overview: Our community pottery studio serves as a vibrant hub for creativity and learning, where individuals of all skill levels can explore the art of ceramics. We believe in the power of collaboration to broaden knowledge and deepen understanding, which is why we are inviting experienced ceramic artists with teaching skills to submit proposals for workshops. These workshops will not only enhance participants' technical abilities but also foster a sense of community as artists and learners come together to share ideas, techniques, and experiences. Through this collaborative approach, we aim to cultivate a rich environment that inspires innovation and personal expression in pottery.

Topics: We invite ceramic artists to submit proposals for workshops on any topics related to clay, techniques, professional development, and building a brand. We are seeking a diverse range of workshops suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced artists. Whether you specialize in hand-building, glazing techniques, or marketing strategies, we encourage you to share your expertise and contribute to the growth of the ceramic community. Your insights can inspire and empower fellow artists to enhance their skills and expand their creative horizons.

Session Types: You may propose any of the following:

  • One-time workshop – Something that is 2-5 hours long and occurs on a single day.

  • Ongoing class – 2-5 hours long but repeats at some interval. It could be consecutive days (2 or more), alternating days, or weekly for a prescribed number of weeks.

  • Ceramics camps – Something that is 2-5 hours long each weekday for a week, geared specifically towards youth (ages 6-9), tweens (ages 8-12), or teens (ages 13-16.)

Studio Facilities: The Pottery Atascadero’s ceramics facilities are equipped with a variety of tools and equipment.

  • The Wheel and Hand building Studio can accommodate a maximum of 10-12 students.

  • The Outdoor Classroom can accommodate a maximum of 8 students.
